I designed this calendar in 2007 to raise awareness about the reported implications of climate change 50 years on if we did not take enough action to prevent its predicted course.
Using the theme of sport to highlight how extreme weather conditions could affect human endurance, from beach volleyball in the scorching month of November to freestyle swimming during summer floods, the message is brought across with the surreal pairing of brightly-coloured, Olympic-esque illustrations and the serious predictions given by scientists. I think the context of humans enduring physical suffering, not for their sport but for their actual survival, helps to convey a far more poignant message. While the calendar aspect also addresses the associations we have with seasonal weather conditions, if we cease to alter our behaviour towards the environment then we may very well see a dramatic shift in these annual patterns. Far worse than simply April showers in May!

A Recipe For Disaster
I created these posters back in 2007 as part of my final year project at university. The intention was to create a series of attention-grabbing statements, raising awareness about the important social and political topics unfolding at the time. The result was an uncompromising set of written expressions with
thought-provoking and unwavering messages that (unfortunately) even to
this day remain relevant to the on-going issues they address.

Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant - New Water Music: Album Artwork
Above is album artwork created for the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. The album features musical works written by 11 top composers commissioned by the Thames Diamond Jubilee Foundation, which will be performed on the deck of a special 'New Water Music' barge that will sail along the Thames as part of the Queen's jubilee celebrations.
I made use of a native British colour palette with emphasis on the blue tones of the official Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant logo to create a bold and graphic representation of the waters that will host the event, using horizontal strokes to suggest both the surface of the Thames and instrumental strings, as well as the geometric angles of decorative bunting and sails.
I also designed the website for this release, which can be seen here:

The album is available to purchase from here:

The Wicker Man 7" Yellow Vinyl For Record Store Day 2012
Photos of newly produced artwork for a special edition yellow 7" vinyl of two tracks from the original soundtrack of 1973 film 'The Wicker Man' (Side A: Willow's Song / Side B: Gently Johnny).
Using original imagery from the film and creating a layout that reflected vintage vinyl sleeve culture, I went to work on subtly making the sleeve design look worn and fire-damaged, as though the artefact itself was a survivor of the burning of the wicker man.
The final payoff being the unusual yellow coloured vinyl, giving the package a beautifully psychedelic vibe.

'The Music of John Williams' Box Set Artwork
Design and artwork for "The Music of John Williams - The Definitive Collection" 6 CD box set.
As part of a celebration of prolific film composer John Williams, I was fortunate enough to work on producing artwork for a special 80th birthday edition box set of his most famous pieces, including the Star Wars saga, Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter to name but a few.
With these titles in mind I went to work on creating scenes from the heavens in specific colour pallets according to the film scores on each disc (because with an 88 track collection your going to need a colour key)!
Part of the project was to design an accompanying mini site for the release, where you can find out more information and get free downloads: www.definitivejohnwilliams.com

Typographic Terrain - Star Wars Homage
After recently purchasing a set of typographic A-Z cake cutters, I've had all sorts of mad ideas as to what to do with them. Above is the first of these ideas, a homage to the environments and terrain found on different planets in Star Wars. Materials used: sugar, coarse turf and Bournemouth beach sand.
